Record Hot Weather in Los Angeles and San Diego – The News of Today
Crazy Weather in Los Angeles and San Diego
Record heat swept over Southern California on Monday, and records were shattered in many locations. The weather in the Los Angeles area saw the mercury rise to 113 degrees. Los Angeles saw it’s hottest day in history today, hitting the high of 113 degrees at 12:15 pm. This broke the record of 112 degrees set back on June 26, 1990. A high pressure system parked over the West was causing the heat by not allowing the cool moist air to get on shore. The beaches in the area were packed despite it being a Monday, most likely due to people skipping work and school for some relief.
San Diego also had record heat both Sunday and Monday. Meteorologists expect some relief from the record temperatures Tuesday, as cooler air is expected to make it’s way on shore. The fire danger has increased due to the hot dry weather of the last few days, with brush fires an all too common occurrence today in much of Southern California. Tomorrow the high in San Diego will be a cool 79 degrees, while Los Angeles should top out at 88.
